Liu Xiaoxia, professor of English at Taiyuan University of Technology, has been deeply involved in organising the Pingyao International Photography Festival (China) for 20 years. She has worked with internationally renowned curators, photographers and educators from different countries. From 2008 to 2023, she organised hundreds of exhibitions from five continents for the Pingyao festival.

She has also curated international exhibitions for several photographic events in China: Liaoning Industrial Photography Festival (Liaoning province, 2016, 2018) and Photo Baohe (Hefei, Anhui province, 2018, 2019). She was also co-curator of the 2nd Quanzhou Huaguang International Image Biennale (2023). She has been invited as a jury member to Photoville (New York, 2013), the Auckland Photo Festival (2015), Photovisa (Krasnodar, 2018）and ARGUS (Sochi, 2023).
